I consult with companies and organizations that want to contribute to climate change solutions, uplifted by the data that has been researched by an international team of scientists in the book Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed for Reversing Global Warming.
Drawdown is the point in time when the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere peak and begin to decline on a year to year basis.
Reversing Global Warming: Introduction to Drawdown is a 2-hour in-person (or Zoom) experience that invites participants to see both the possibility of reversing global warming and that they have an important role to play in that process. Through videos and group activities, participants learn about a comprehensive plan to reverse global warming from Project Drawdown—a scientific study that identified 100 solutions that together, can begin to roll back global warming by 2050. These solutions encompass the energy we use, the food we eat, and the cities we live in. By the end they will see the vital role they can play in the movement to reverse global warming.
- Learn about a comprehensive scientific study of 100 solutions that together, could actually reverse global warming by 2050
- Connect with people in their community to find inspiration and discover new possibilities for addressing global warming
- Learn how they can change the conversation about global warming from “game over” to “game on!”
To achieve drawdown we need to draw greenhouse gases down from the atmosphere back to the earth. This already happens every year via photosynthesis but we have to rebalance the quantity of emissions with the earth’s capacity to bring those gases back home.
And, while my personal connections are deepest within the Land Use and Food sectors, I can connect you with resources and experts from other sectors named in Drawdown to help you maximize your contributions to solutions.
I can also support your environmental art and education projects by guiding you through the process of publishing books and catalogs, organizing panels focused on art, science and sustainability, and producing events that inspire your clients to participate in the restoration of Nature’s balance.
Alana combines an exceptional ability to see and make connections between key influencers, and a passion for social justice, equity, and the restoration of the natural carbon cycle. Her first contribution was to connect Project Drawdown with our partner OpenTeam, a Paris-based organization developing an online platform for collaborative work.
In addition, through her status in France as a laureate of 100 Projects for the Climate, and as a member of the 4per1000 Consortium, she connected Project Drawdown to the former French Minister of Agriculture Stéphane Le Foll and Executive Secretary of the 4 per 1000 Initiative Paul Luu. Both have expressed great interest in having Drawdown come back to France. Through these efforts, we hope these connections will allow us to play a part in next year’s Consortium at COP24.
